Daddy Daughter Friday JUMP Workout

Daddy Daughter Workout

PREPARE YOURSELF

TIGF and to Celebrate Amelia and I have put together a Fun Jump Workout for you to enjoy!

You’ll start by getting some of your favorite music ready.

  • BEGIN: it’s Mountain Climbers….start in high plank and JUMP each foot forward in an alternating pattern.
  • THEN: you have a choice…either JUMP Squats reaching both arms up overhead as you JUMP or Bear Crawl using your arms and legs.
  • NEXT: it’s JUMP Rope time! Any step you choose and as fast as you want to JUMP.
  • FINALLY: it’s JUMPing Jacks for the finish of the circuit! End by engaging the whole body (Similar to Hard Effort Running!)

As for how many reps and sets? You get to do as many of each as you like! The Goal is to stick with the workout through 4 of your Favorite Songs!!

IT’ S FRIDAY! So have FUN!

Rest as needed…Dance a bit if you wish, but complete 1 round minimum.

The Zoom App.
With the current state of affairs Leapfrog still wants to provide not only structured workouts via the Daily Fitness Calendar, but we want to maintain some face time and interaction with our members!  We will be hosting VIRTUAL MEETINGS Live in the Zoom App!!  All you need to do is download the app.  I’ll send a text link so you can easily choose to join our sessions!  Aiming for 20-30 minutes daily at 4:30pm.  I will also offer some CHAT TIMES at random times throughout the day:)  Feel free to join in to share a good thought/inspiration, to vent a bit if needed and to just connect with the Leapfrog Community.  I know it’s not normal or even comfortable for some of us…but it can be fun for all of us:)  I ask you to give it a try!  There is nothing to lose!

What could be more appropriate in these times than this???  Keep moving forward…

Things are not ideal, but every storm runs out of rain, all we can do is adapt and modify, adjust our sails.  

Keeping these sayings in mind, we are sorry to have to cancel our group practices and Leapfrog Socials for the coming weeks.  IT IS NOT THE END OF THE ROAD.  We are merely adjusting our stride and changing pace:)  As we practice what we preach at Leapfrog we will offer modifications to our normal workout routine.  

If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the Daily Fitness Calendar online through this link.  This is a great way to start your day or at least get some direction/inspiration!  ALSO:  if you haven’t checked out the Zoom App yet, may I suggest downloading it here.  It creates a virtual meeting room where we can see and hear each other from our cell phone, tablet or computer!  I will be hosting daily sessions with some opportunity for community movement while in quarantine!  Will it be a bit awkward at first?  YES!  It’s gonna be weird…it’s gonna be different…it’s gonna be funny at times…it’s gonna be worth it!  EVERY SMALL STEP…  

Thank You for keeping moving along with me!  I’m here for each and every one of you!  You may always feel free to CALL or TEXT with anything you need to share!  Times are tough…Training is tough…Friendship and Support are here!!!

Today we talk about our 200 Meter Repeat Workout and some of the things that make Leapfrog unique. PLUS: Your invitation to JOIN LEAPFROG for our Hill Series & Track Workouts

Learn…Practice…Workout

When doing REPEATS it’s not only about the Speed…Consistency Matters! We started this week learning about and practicing techniques for Passive Recovery. We went through a process to both gain control of your breath and lower your heart rate. We also discussed mental strategies and ways to break workouts and runs down into “Units You Can Handle.” Today we Practiced that technique with a minimum of Twelve by 200 Meter Repeats. Although Speed is Important…It was Consistency that I was more concerned about with today’s workout! Ah Yes!  Principles…

At Leapfrog we like Coaching & Practicing Principles!  I call them Run Fundamentals:)

If you’ve been following Leapfrog for any amount of time now you’ve likely heard me say:  PREPARE YOURSELF.  It’s our Guiding Principle at Leapfrog.  It follows a simple principle of:  “You Reap What You Sow.”  

Let’s face it:  There are millions of training methods…lots of philosophies…lots of styles of running and coaching.  Some programs believe in high mileage…others believe in heart rate tracking…still others follow walk/run strategies.  Literally millions of styles of training!  At Leapfrog we don’t get caught up in the trends and gadgets of training…we focus on the Run Fundamentals:  Breathing, Stride, Arm Position, Posture Strategy and Recovery.  

I come to each practice with the goal being to help each athlete PREPARE THEMSELVES for whatever their goals are.  To be able to control their breathing…to carry their posture strong…to move with purpose…to be disciplined and to understand what their body tells them.  My goal is not to micro manage everything about running, but to give each athlete the ability to understand themselves and build confidence in their own knowledge of their own body.  

Regardless of what method you prefer…Leapfrog offers Principled Coaching that can be used across all methods to help ensure a long, strong and efficient running career.  At Leapfrog we are proud of our Principles and we are proud of every person who takes the time and effort to show up and share their efforts with us.  

We look forward to sharing more Principled Focused Running with all of you over the coming months and throughout 2020!!  


Leapfrog February begins our 4 week Hill Series to help us Overcome Obstacles and Keep Control when life/running gets difficult.  We look forward to working with each and every one of you 3 times weekly to help make you both a strong & wise runner.  The culmination of our Hill Series is our yearly DESTINATION RACE sign up for The Leadville Marathon & Heavy 1/2.  It’s taking hill running to the mountains and giving everyone the opportunity to truly test your limits.  I hope you will consider joining us for the challenge that is our Hill Series and then continue with Leapfrog out west to Leadville, CO to take on the Mountains!!
