This Weeks HUGE SHOUT OUT:
Mason B.!!!
Mason EARNED this weeks SHOUT OUT with his Dedication and Commitment this week @Leapfrog.
Mason had an early morning commitment on Wednesday and knew he couldn’t complete the 
scheduled workout in time if he started at 6a.m.  SO:  Mason contacted me and he arranged to 
begin his workout EARLY:  at 5:30a.m.!!!  
That’s Dedication!!
Mason also has chosen to sign up for his FIRST 1/2 MARATHON and to be consistent 
he came to Friday’s “On The Course” Workout and put forth a Super Solid Effort!!!

Well Done Mason!

Looking forward to your continued Dedication and Progress!!

Each week Leapfrog hosts a Monday Track Practice that focuses ENTIRELY on RUN FORM. 

Wednesday We Work on SPEED.

Friday’s this month are all about THE NAPLES NEWS 1/2 MARATHON.  

At Leapfrog we believe in increased efficiency and RUNNING STRONG.  Our goal is to coach runners not just to faster times and further distances, but also to build strong overall athletes with an emphasis on Form & Fundamentals. 

We look to keep you moving Further, Faster and Injury Free for a long and enjoyable running/fitness lifestyle.

Traditional Thanksgiving
“Gobble Gobble” Run w/Mimosas!!

Join Leapfrog and Friends as we continue the Thanksgiving “Gobble Gobble” Tradition of a morning Run followed by Mimosas!
Join us as we meet at Venitian Village in the north side parking lot by 7:30a.m. Thanksgiving morning for a CASUAL Fun Run/Walk in the tradition of the Gobble Gobble event. PLEASE PARK EVERY OTHER SPACE TO ENSURE A SAFE/SOCIALLY DISTANCED SPACE.
The “Official” Run/Walk will leave Venitian Village parking lot at 7:30a.m and head to the north end of Gulf Shore Blvd. and back. Distance is approx. 1.5 miles. YES! You may go further if you’d like, it’s your day to enjoy:)
We will be running spaced out and going against traffic as the streets will be open. We expect kindness and courtesy from all participating…THIS IS NOT A RACE:)
Per our Tradition we will partaking in Celebratory Mimosa’s post run in the parking lot. Please BYOB.
We hope you’ll join us and even invite friends as we carry on a Holiday Tradition here in beautiful Naples, Florida.
NOTE: This event is meant to be a PRIVATE SOCIAL GATHERING…this is not a public event. You may feel free to share with specific friends you’d like to invite but PLEASE DON’T SHARE PUBLICALLY. We need to keep this an “intimate” event amongst friends:)

LASTLY: in the tradition of Thanksgiving we will be taking a collection of canned/dry goods for St. Matthews House. So if you’d like, please consider bringing a donation for those less fortunate:)

This Weeks HUGE SHOUT OUT:
Chris Smith & Sue Timmins!!
It was a hard week to pick just 1 person to “Shout Out”
Chris earned his shout out with his return to Wednesday Track Practice  with a STRONG & CONSISTENT 200 Meter Repeat performance!  Well Done Chris!!
Sue earned her SHOUT OUT by jumping into Saturdays Water Walk from the middle of her run!!  Sue met us at Horizon after 5.5 miles of running…She then took on the Water Walk (Along with Ann Messer, Mark Russel, and others!!!)…AND THEN SHE FINISHED HER RUN!!!  (Happy to say Ann also ran Post Water Walk!!  Talk about “Running on Fatigued Legs!)  So HUGE SHOUT OUT to Chris, Sue (& Ann & Mark too:)
Keep Up The Effort & Fun!!!

POWER RUNNING SERIES
 

Join Leapfrog for our Friday Workouts all June as we build Strength & Endurance with our Power Running Series.  
 

RUN STRONG w/LEAPFROG at our Power Running Series.

Week 1 Workout:  If you missed Friday’s workout here’s what you missed:
     Warm Up
     1 Minute Wall Squat, 1 Minute Plank, 10 Push-Ups  1 Minute Run “out & back” carrying water bottles.
     REPEAT THE CALISTHENICS.  2 Minute Run “out & back” w/out water bottles.
     REPEAT THE CALISTHENICS.  3 Minute Run “out & back” carrying water bottles.
     REPEAT THE CALISTHENICS.  4 Minute Ru “out & back” w/out water bottles.
     Two more rounds…
FOCUS:  Strong Torso and Posture.  Fatiguing the Legs w/Wall Squats and Engaging the Torso/Using the Arms to Run.

#PREPARE YOURSELF.

Running is so much more than physical!  Movement is just the process, muscles are just the strength, THE MIND is really the FORCE behind the movement.  

At Leapfrog we practice running by coaching the Mind/Body Connection and Perceived Effort.  We want you to get to know that little voice that whispers doubt and fear.  We coach mental strategies and build the confidence to push through the tough times.  

Run Form and Efficiency are used to keep us moving forward, they are built by bridging the body and mind to listen to each other and make smart adjustments to keep us moving forward.  When you feel like quitting we ask “WHY?”   Are you out of breath, Are your legs heavy/tired?  Is your mind overwhelmed?  As we ask and understand why we are having difficultly we can then make adjustments and keep moving forward.   Breathing techniques, posture, arm engagement, breaking the run/workout down into smaller units that our minds can handle…THIS is what we practice at Leapfrog.

So when doubts creep in…When we feel weak…When we want to quit…  This is when the coaching at Leapfrog really kicks in!
“Anyone can do it fresh!”  You’ll hear me preach this at practice on a regular basis. It’s when your body/mind are tired and exhausted, that’s when Form, Efficiency, Discipline, Strength and Purpose MATTER.  This is what we practice.  This is what I coach.

Live from The Track 2/12/2020.

Today we talk about our 200 Meter Repeat Workout and some of the things that make Leapfrog unique. PLUS: Your invitation to JOIN LEAPFROG for our Hill Series & Track Workouts

Learn…Practice…Workout

When doing REPEATS it’s not only about the Speed…Consistency Matters! We started this week learning about and practicing techniques for Passive Recovery. We went through a process to both gain control of your breath and lower your heart rate. We also discussed mental strategies and ways to break workouts and runs down into “Units You Can Handle.” Today we Practiced that technique with a minimum of Twelve by 200 Meter Repeats. Although Speed is Important…It was Consistency that I was more concerned about with today’s workout!
